The following rubric will be used when judging Oral Presentations at the event. You may want to check over the rubric to see if your Oral Presentation meets all of these points.

Rubric

Research Background and Purpose

1. The purpose and focus of the research work are clear.

2. The presenter addresses the focus with relevant background information along with their motivation for the work in an organized way.

Methodology

3. The research work adopted an appropriate methodology to investigate the focus of research work (research questions).

4. The presenter explains details about their methodology or approach in an efficient way.

Results

5. The results/findings were clear and easy to follow.

6. The presenter effectively communicates the findings.

Practical Implications

7. The presenter clearly delivers practical implications of their findings (how their work is a benefit to their field of study) to an interdisciplinary audience.

Presentation Skills

8. The presenter is professional in presenting their research work in recording (e.g., attitude, attire, manner of speech, use of time).

Presentation Materials

9. The presentation materials are well organized, easy to read, and lead the audience through the arc of their research work.

Rating Scale

Exceptional (5)
- The presentation or research work far exceeded expectations and the quality of work/performance in all evaluated areas was exceptionally high
Exceeds Expectations (4)
- The presentation or research work consistently exceeded expectations and the overall quality of the work/performance in all evaluated areas was excellent
Meets Expectations (3)
- The presentation or research work met expectations and the quality of work/performance in all evaluated areas was good
Needs Improvement (2)
- The presentation or research work failed to meet expectations in one or more areas and the quality of work/performance in one or more evaluated areas needs improvement
Unsatisfactory (1)
- The presentation or research work failed to meet expectations in most areas and the quality of work/performance in most evaluated areas needs significant improvement
